How Fermillet Kitchen Was Born

I’m 38, a software professional by career and a true foodie by heart. My wife and I have always shared a deep love for food. Exploring flavors, trying new cuisines, and celebrating life one bite at a time. Food has always been our comfort, our joy, and our way of connecting with the world. But everything changed during the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite being cautious, both of us were affected by the virus. We recovered, but soon after, I started facing unexpected health issues.

That’s when I was diagnosed as borderline diabetic. Until that moment, I had never really thought about what I ate. Junk food was my comfort zone, and Biryani was my all-time favorite. But facing health problems for the first time made me realize how deeply food impacts our well-being. The diagnosis was a wake-up call. It was time for change.

At first, switching to “healthy food” felt like punishment. I missed my favorite flavors, and the bland diet made it harder to stay consistent. Even after weeks of sacrifice, my HBA1C levels didn’t improve much. I felt defeated. But I didn’t give up. I decided to approach my health differently — with love, not fear. I began including millets, flax seeds, moringa powder, and other natural ingredients in my meals. Slowly, I started seeing results. My energy improved, my sugar levels stabilized, and I began feeling more alive than ever. One day during lunch at work, I was passionately sharing my experience and urging my colleagues to eat healthier. My team leader asked me a simple question that struck deep — “Are you truly enjoying the food you’re eating? If not, why should others?” That question changed everything. I realized health shouldn’t come at the cost of taste. So, I began experimenting — finding ways to make millet-based dishes not just nutritious but irresistibly delicious. After countless trials (and a few funny kitchen disasters), I discovered recipes that truly excited my taste buds. My friends and colleagues started trying them too — and soon, I was receiving calls of thanks from people who saw real changes in their health. That’s when Fermillet Kitchen was born. Fermillet isn’t just a restaurant. It’s a movement — a heartfelt effort to help people rediscover food that heals, energizes, and delights. Every dish we create combines traditional wisdom with modern taste, helping those with diabetes, blood pressure issues, and lifestyle challenges fall in love with healthy eating again.
